What you need for a Paramount+ watch party

  • Each of you signed in to Paramount+ on your own laptop, with a plan that plays the episode.
  • Chrome on a laptop or desktop works best. Other Chrome-based browsers may work too. Phones can't run Flickcall.
  • The Flickcall extension, free to add. A free Flickcall account turns on video chat.
  • A one-time Chrome permission for each of you. Without it, the Flickcall logo doesn't show on paramountplus.com.

Paramount+ watch party FAQs

Does Paramount+ have a watch party feature?

The Paramount+ web player has no watch party button. Flickcall adds one: a free Paramount+ watch party extension for Chrome that keeps the show in sync for everyone in the party, with video chat beside the player.

Can we watch Paramount+ together on Discord?

Screen sharing Paramount+ on Discord often shows your friends a black screen. With Flickcall nobody shares a screen: each of you plays Paramount+ on your own laptop, and Flickcall keeps the players in sync.

Do we both need our own Paramount+ account?

Each person watches on their own laptop, signed in to Paramount+. Use your own accounts if you live apart; Paramount+ sharing rules apply.

Does the Paramount+ plan with ads work?

Yes. Each person's ad break is their own and may come at a slightly different moment. Flickcall holds the other laptop while one of you is in a break, then play continues together.

An ad covered the player while we were paused. What happened?

Paramount+ can show a still ad over the video while you are paused. It is not a break: when either of you presses play, Flickcall clears it and both laptops continue.

Can we watch Paramount+ together long distance?

Yes, from different cities or countries, as long as Paramount+ streams the show where each of you is. Paramount+ streams in only some countries and its catalogue differs by country, so check that you can both play the episode.

Can I join a Paramount+ watch party on my phone?

No. Flickcall runs in Chrome on a laptop or desktop. Phones aren't supported.

Is Flickcall free?

Yes. Core features like video playback sync and chat are free on every supported platform. Video and voice chat come with a free weekly allowance. Paid plans unlock unlimited video chat, and only one person in the party needs one.
